As suggested over the last couple of weeks, TMPRD has again begun to breathe life. The directorship may have changed, however the team, graphics/art direction as well as themes/vibe have largely remained the same. While it has been quite some time since the cogs of TMPRD have churned, things have been going on behind the scenes for a long time, to get to where we are now and more excitingly, to where we will be in the near future. To cut through the bullshit, there will be a whole new range of products including frames, bars, seats/posts, chain wheels, stems with a number of other possibilities brimming beneath the surface.
To build a presence with which to release and then promote, the new products, Wilton, Jerry and I have been working on full length parts for the last year or so. Each part will form part of a wider project, titled ‘Doomsday for the Deceiver’ a kind of play on words in terms of releasing new products to the market while giving a respectful nod to some of the influences behind the new range. Each part will be released 2 weeks apart and at the end, form part of a complete package.
First off the ranks, and doubling as a welcome to the team, is Wilton Hedley.
Wilton has been around the nooks of the Brisbane BMX scene for a long ass time. He started off as the young, baby faced ADD kid from Albany Creek and man, how far he has evolved. Over the last few years, Wilton and I have spent most of our riding weekends together, which has been a friggin’ blast. He emanates an unmatched passion and eye for BMX, one which I consider to be a perfect blend of the early 2000s raw, hessian, gritty resolve for BMX in its purest form as well as a mix of modern technical creativity. The kid lives and breathes BMX and does it right.
Wilton and I have been working on this part since completing his Crispy ‘Fall From Grace’ section. The editing has taken me a good long while, shifting, cutting and amending things here and there. The end result is something that we are both entirely proud of and something which I think represents TMPRD and Wilton perfectly. The dude put his all into this project, I hope you get a ‘feeling’ mirroring this when watching.
So without any more words, welcome to TMPRD Wilton and folks, enjoy his 2015 part.
